Vertebral Tethering has recently gained conditional approval from the FDA as a humanitarian device exemption and has been gaining popularity and interest as evidenced by increasing numbers of presentation at national and international meetings. However, the evidence supporting its use is sparse and the indications for use are varied among practitioners. We will examine the ethics and art of approaching the adoption of this new technology.
